Have you dreamt of sleeping outdoors under the open sky? ... Make your dream come true by hiring the necessary gear from us and sleeping outdoors safely on the yard of your rented cottage. The hammock, dubbed as the swing of gods, comes from South America but is a good fit in Finnish nature, too. While lying in it, you’ll sense the surrounding nature particularly intensely – the scents and sounds, the breeze – yet tucked in safe and warm.
Your rented cottage is your base for water, dining and toilet visits. Rain won’t be an issue, as the hammock is sheltered with a tarp hung over it. The accompanying underblanket will keep you warm, but depending on the time of year, you’ll also need a blanket or sleeping bag plus pyjamas or other nightwear.
The hammock and related supplies will be delivered to your rented cottage at Jokiniemen Matkailu, and you’ll receive instructions and assistance in suspending it. You’ll also receive other preparation tips to make your night as enjoyable as possible. You can also hire the hammock for several days; the extra days will then be more affordable.
The gear package rental price includes:
Use of a mosquito-netted hammock (weight limit 120 kg)
Use of a hammock underblanket for warmth
A tarp cover to protect you from wind and rain
Instructions on how to suspend the hammock
You need to bring with you
Your own sleeping bag (or you can hire one from us for an additional fee)
Weather-appropriate personal nightwear
Note that the price of a cottage or room is not included in the hammock rental price, as these must be reserved and paid for separately for the same time period.
The guide will bring the gear to your cottage on the afternoon (depending on what is agreed) and provide instructions and assistance on how to suspend the hammock.
Please return the gear to the reception of Jokiniemen Matkailu by 12 noon the next day or in accordance with the guide’s instructions.
